Share a great summer resort: Dunhuang Mogao Cave

The Mogao Caves located in Gansu province make up the most famous group of Buddhist grottoes in China. The caves, located 25 kilometers southeast from Dunhuang, are also known as the Caves of the Thousand Buddha and Dunhuang Caves and they consist of 492 decorated cave temples excavated into 1.6 kilometers of cliff face.

The Dunhuang Mogao Cave is also called Thousand-Buddha Cave. It is 1600 meters long from south to north and it totally has 5 floors. The caves were began to build at 366, after more than ten dynasties’ development, they become a series of caves which are very large and beautiful.

The Dunhuang Caves left us lots of important subjects about architecture. There are many ancient architecture samples showed on the frescos, which are the materials at first hand to do research on Chinese ancient architecture. According to the different dynasties, we can classify them into 5 different characters of caves.

Among the Dunhuang treasures, the frescos are the most important part. They contain a lot of information and show us the fantasy skill in the ancient China. Dunhuang flying is the most famous one in the Dunhuang frescos. As I know, the Indian culture, west region culture and Zhongyuan Culture contributes a lot to forming the Dunhuang Flying. Dunhuang flying is famous for its beautiful dress and figures of women, showing us the dream of ancient Chinese people to fly to the sky. To some extent, it is the card of Dunhuang Mogao Caves and the symbol of Dunhuang art.

There is one fresco called nine-color deer in Dunhuang. It told us a story that a nine-color deer jump into the rapid river to save a drowned people without thinking itself. But the drowned people betrayed the nine-color deer because of the behalf himself. The nine-color deer faced the music when besieged by the enemies; it criticized the ungratefulness of the drowned people and didn’t give up fighting against the evil. The story showed us the beauty of morality at that time.

The appearance of Bodhisattva is the most elegant and attractive subject among all the josses in Dunhuang Caves. We can see the charm of East Women from them. So the joss of it is called “Eastern Venus” and the portray is called “Eastern Holy Mother”.

Dunhuang Mogao Caves has been listed in World Heritage List in 1987 by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. As an Chinese art treasure, it is valuable in history and art.. There is no doubt that the Dunhuang Mogao Caves are the bright pearl in the treasure-house of human cultural heritage.

In order to celebrate the set up of a newly primary school in 1958, a group of students each drew a picture about the world in 50 years, and then stored them in a time capsule.

But seemingly heard some whispers, a mystery girl, one of the students, wrote down many ruleless numbers on the whole paper.

Time flies quickly. 50 years later, another group of students dig up and open the time capsule to see the pictures in it. On occasionally, the paper written by the mystery girl was given to a boy called Caleb Myles whose father is a famous scientist.

After seeing the odd "picture", Caleb’s father, Professor Ted Myles surprisingly found that the numbers on the paper showed exactly information about all the .disasters happened 50 years ago. The date, number of the dead people and the place is concluded. What is more important is Ted noticed that there are still three disasters which have not happened yet…

In this movie, Ted felt confused about the world and had many doubts about whole universe. With the help of the mystery predictor’s daughter Diana Whelan and grandchild Abby, Ted exerted all his effort to fight against the time. At last, he had nothing to do but faced the final disaster—the destroying of the world.

ORIGIN OF MOTHER’S DAY

In 1876, the whole America was in sad about the death of the Civil War. At that time, Anna Jarvis was a teacher who gave lecture of the Civil War. When she prayed, she said: I wish we can set a mother's day somewhere in the future, in order to memorize and praise all the mothers around the world.

Anna Jarvis died when she was 72 years old and her daughter Anna determined to found a mother’s day for her.

At the beginning, Anna wrote lots of letters to some famous people. She asked them to support her idea about the mother’s day, but no one backed up her.

Fortunately, on May 12th 1907, a church agreed to hold a meeting for the mothers. Out of anticipation, the meeting held successfully in Philadelphia. Some chiefs supported Anna’s idea and set Mother’s Day in their states.

Until 1914, Wilson, the president of America decided to make Mother’s Day a common holiday in America. From then on, more and more countries set Mother’s Day in their own country. The Mother’s Day became an international festival eventually.

The dates of Mother’s Day are different around the world, But most of the countries make the second Sunday in May Mother’s Day. The traditional gift for mothers is carnation.

If there is someone I like best in Gossip Girl. That must be Chuck Bass. The reason why I choose him is that he is Chuck Bass, nothing about his family, his appearance. The characteristic of Chuck Bass attract me a lot..

On most of people’s mind, Chuck is an absolutely playboy. Go to clubs every night and have sex with all the sexy girls. He looks like a childish boy, who cannot help getting rid of decadent. I have no intent to fight against these words. What I need to emphasize is other beautiful characteristics of Chuck Bass.

I hope you won’t forget Chuck’s best friend Nate. When Nate was being deceived by a bad guy, Chuck helped him deal with that problem; When Nate’s father committed a crime, Chuck exerted all his strength to encourage and take care of Nate. Chuck treasured a lot his friendship through his unique way.

In my point of view, Chuck is a kindhearted boy. He didn’t believe the love of his dad, but he still does all he can, hoping get admitting from his father. But unfortunately, he didn’t. He learned to hide his heart. Whatever he did, even it is out of good intentions, others also feel a little cold from him.

Chuck Bass, a contradictory individual, a lonely boy. You don’t need to care too much about others’ point, because you are Chuck Bass.

If there is a girl who can attract any other’s eyesight even because of her appearance, that is Serena Van der Woodsen.

The same with Blair Wardorf, Serena was born in a rich upper east family with a beautiful face. In fact, she definitely can be a person like any others who have the same family background like her. But she is not. Unlike other girls, Serena is more democratic. She made friends with people in Brooklyn and take care of her family and friends.

Mostly, she didn’t want to show off her rich family, she just want to do what her want and be happy like any common girls around the world. She is absolutely a beautiful girl, but what attracts me most is her inner beauty.

As a friend of Blair, Serena seems a bit of poor. As we know, Blair sometimes envied Serena, even if Blair is wrong, she felt no guilt for her best friend. Whenever Blair needs, Serena will go to help her at the first moment. She is gifted to be a model, but she refused because of Blair. She got the chance to go to Yale, but she let Blair in. Even if Blair never takes care of her, she still tried her best to comfort Blair. Someone attempted to stop her do so, but she said: “No, Blair needs me. She is my friend.”

Between her love with Dan, Serena got a lot pain. Due to Dan's fault, Serena cried and cried. She has no choice to change her family background. There is no reason for Dan to blame her because of such kind so things.

Serena is a so beautiful and kind-hearted girl that I want to appreciate her a lot.

A princess? A pretty girl? An excellent student? Or a jealous one?

Born in a rich upper east family with beautiful face and smart figure, Blair Wardorf seems to have everything all the girls around the world wanted. Maybe she is a little bit proud, but we know she has the power to do so, because of her charm and family background. "I am the central of the world" This is the orientation she set for herself.

In this money based society, Blair sounds like a model of perfect girl. We dream to have a life like hers, especially girls. On most common people’s opinion, Blair is one of the happiest girls in the world. She definitely could easily get everything what her want, even reputation, friendship and an ideal boyfriend.

What you are thinking when I mention the word “love” before you? Will you feel happy or injured? Maybe most of the people in China will recall such a sentence as:

If the Lord could offer me another chance, I will tell you three words “I love you”. And supposing that time limited it, I hope it can be 10 thousand years.

Does a human being can live up to 10 thousand years? Of course not. Can we choose our lives twice? Not again. In fact, sometimes we can do nothing to make up for what we regret bet treasure them when we have them.

We young people always dream a lot about our love, especially girls. Be addicted into Cinderella and Snow White, we starved for our own princes. But fairy tales are only fairy tales, not all the princesses can marry their princes, not all the princess and princes could enjoy a happy life. In some cases, reality is absolutely a little bit of cruel.

April fool’s Day

“Happy April fool’s Day! Hahaha!” Somebody laughed. “How silly I am!” Another one said without angry. You know why, because it is April fool’s Day! The rule is even though you are fooled, you can’t get mad with anyone. How funny the day is!

Now I want to share a story of mine in my childhood about April fool’s Day.

It was in my primary school. I was 10 years old. At that time, I was English representative in my class. The day before April fool’s Day, I announced that we would have an English test one day later. The test is about all the vocabulary we have learned in Unit one. All the students became very nervous after hearing this and busy preparing the test. Moreover, some of them come to me for help. But unluckily, they prepared nearly everything except the April fool’s Day. After 2 days’ hard working, just before the English class began, the class received my benediction on April fool’s Day. Everybody laughed and cheered, I felt so proud of myself at that moment.

I don’t remember when it began, but everybody can tell you absolutely that American videos have become a popular trend among the society. No matter Asia, Europe, or America.Such as Hero, Prison Break, Lost, Friendship, and what I am now watching, Gossip Girl.

I guess somebody will feel the story of the Gossip Girl is far away from our life. The dramatis personae in it are rich and beautiful, and they live in Up East, go to private school and enjoy a luxury life. Even the family like Humphrey, members of it is talented and creative. Apart from these, I find something same in our lives—friendship.

Jenny Humphrey, an ordinary but gifted girl. Just like all the girls at her age, she wants to dress beautiful, chat with her friends, and be loved by the prince. But unluckily, she bore in a Brooklyn house. Without money and power as her schoolmates in that private school, she looks like a nerd. She struggled a lot to get involved the charmed circle, even scarified her dignity and dream. Unfortunately, she got lost and be hurt deeply. Poor little Jenny, after experiencing up and down, she came to her senses and concentrated on her dream, living comfortable.

What is friendship? Probably, you have never thought about it. It is nothing about money and power, but love and care. Friendship shouldn’t be rating and institutional, but equal and free. We can not deny that friendship needs an equal. So that is why Jenny can be friend with Vanessa, not Blair. The true friendship doesn’t need you sacrifice anything, it will help you realize your dream and become better and better.

Treasure your friendship. Love each other, love yourself.

The more you have, the slimmer you will be!

Am I kidding now? Of course not! Most people feel that it is a tough thing to lose weight. Some people luckily choose a healthy way to aim their goal, such as eating less and do more exercise. But unluckily, the other people choose an unhealthy way to get slimmer, such as having diet pill, which let too many problems to their fit.

Is there an easier and more comfortable way to be thinner? Do you want to have a slimmer figure? Follow me!

Here I recommend three methods to you:

First, green tea yoghourt. You can have one cup 125ml green tea yoghourt before or instead of your meals. Green tea has the function of eliminating oil in your body. Having yoghurt can make you feel full in order to eat less.

Second, popcorn. As we know, if you drink a lot of water while having popcorn, you will soon feel full in your stomach. So if you feel like having some snacks when you are watching television or playing computers, you could choose to have some popcorn and water instead.

Finally, have soybean milk and banana as your breakfast. Comparing soybean milk to milk, soybean milk has less fat in it and more nutrition. Banana can help to solve your constipation. This method is very useful for women who have yearly constipation.

Choosing one of the three methods and keeping do it for a while. You will surprisingly find the big change on your body.

The spring is coming

Warmer weather,greener grass, both show us that we must get ready to welcome a new spring. To tell the truth, I myself emphasize this spring a lot. After studying abroad for one semester last year, it is happy for me to see the beautiful spring in my motherland. Obviously, It is a new start for 2009, but also a new start for me.

I feel so cozy when the soft wind touches my fingers. It blows away all the troubles and gives me some space to enjoy the valuable time. In this crowded world, not many people have the chance to stop everything to feel the amazing beauty of the nature. So I am honored to be entitled to this privilege.

Comparing to the society, universities could be seen as a heaven without power and lust, even though we probably have a lot of homework. By now, I have made a plan for the new spring.

First of all, work hard for my GPA and GMAT test. It is a duty for me to accomplish as a student.

Secondly, get on well with my roommates and my friends; we don't have too much time to stay together. College life is short, but we could have a long friendship.

At last, go and see the cherry blossom in Yuyuan Park. You know, it is just for fun, but also what I dreamed a lot. At the end of the text, I want to quote a couplet which I heard at New Oriental.

Anything is possible; impossible is nothing; just do it!
